Beginners levels

Beginner Introduction to Tennis
You are brand new to tennis. In 3 sessions of Beginner’s Introduction to Tennis, you will learn the basic techniques and fundamentals of tennis. You will be introduced to rules, scoring and etiquette of the game, before moving on to Beginner Level 1 for the next phase of technical learning.

Beginner 1
You have learnt and understood the basic fundamentals of tennis techniques, and are able to make contact consistently from coach feeding.

Beginner 2
You can now execute the basic techniques, and progressing to improve technically & tactically. You can now rally 4-6 balls with the coach from ¾ court, but not from the base line yet. You may not be able to execute the full serving motion yet.

Beginner 3
You can rally at least 6 balls with the coach from the baseline. But not yet ready to play with another player of similar level. You can serve and return occasionally but not with consistency. Technically, you are still developing all the strokes (Forehand, backhand, volley, and serve)
Intermediate levels

Intermediate 1
You can execute all the strokes, but can’t handle the different spins and speed yet. You are able to serve and rally with sufficient control. You can rally up to 6+ balls with players of similar level. You can play singles or doubles points with the guidance of the coach.

Intermediate 2
You can rally with good control and accuracy (cross court, down the line). You can produce spin intentionally, serve, volley effectively & play points autonomously in singles & doubles match play.

Intermediate 3
You can rally consistently with a variety of spins and generate your own pace. You have good movement, tactical awareness, court craft & positioning and can compete competently in singles or doubles with good intensity.
Advanced levels

Advanced 1
You rally consistently with medium-high pace. You can change spin, speed and directions with good control. You are able to produce spin (slice or kick) on the serve. You can play points with different styles (attack, neutral, defensive). Your progression is to develop and specialize in a style for your game.

Advanced 2
You play with high intensity and speed, with excellent control in changing pace, spin and directions. You can deliver and handle all the different spins on the serve (both slice and kick). You are conscious of your game plan and have your own style of play.

Advanced 3
You competed as a junior, in D1 College, national or international levels and are still playing at a competitive level. You can maintain high intensity and have excellent mastery of all the strokes. You read the game well, can execute your game plan, and own a specific style of play.
